The LEE-27 Conical point support is fitted into the LEE-11 CT clamp to provide a precise point location when a specific feature needs to be located in or against when clamping.
The Conical point support can also be fitted into the LEE-15 Tension Post to allow the post be used as a thin location pillar and is especially useful when maximum access to surfaces close to the point of location / support is needed.
The Conical point support also operates in conjunction with the LEE-29 Extension post to allow the Tip to be used at an extended distance away from the CT Clamp body, giving greater access around the work piece.
The Conical point support has an Male thread; it is screwed directly into the female Threads of the LEE-11 CT clamp or the LEE-15 Tension post. The position of the Conical point support can be adjusted by changing the depth it is screwed into the mating part. The Tip is supplied complete with an thin nut which is used to lock the Tip into position. Tighten the Thin Nut in position using an spanner (a spanner is supplied in all of the fixture kits of parts but not when the Tip is purchased individually).
When using the Conical point support in conjunction with the LEE-15 Tension post to create a thin location post the tip is inserted as described above and the tension post then screwed directly into the base plate or any of the female threads on the other fixture components. It can then be used to support lighter weight work pieces, and is especially useful when maximum access to surfaces close to the point of location / support is needed.
In order to fully appreciate the way in which this component is used we recommend that you view the ‘typical applications page’ in the product catalogue, manual or on our website at http://www.modularfix.com.
Stainless steel is extremely durable, however cleaning maybe required due to contamination from oils or general handling.
For general cleaning, stainless steel should be cleaned with soap or a mild detergent and warm water. For removal of grease or oily deposits methylated spirits can be applied with a cloth or sponge. In both cases the part should be finally rinsed in cold water and thoroughly dried.
