The retractable spring clamp provides a repeatable method of clamping the work piece in position. The design of the retractable spring clamp means that it can be quickly released and applied promoting quick work piece change over. The operating pressure applied by the retractable spring clamp is 10.30 N/mm. The radius end is manufactured from delrin and is ideal for clamping against most materials.
Delrin has been used to minimise the risk of damaging the work piece when clamped. The retractable spring clamp is used in conjunction with either the LEE-16 Height adjustor body to allow it to be operated at varying heights and orientations.
In order to adjust the height and orientation of the retractable spring clamp it should firstly be fitted into either the LEE-16 Height adjustor body by means of the male thread, the two components should be screwed together and tightened in position by hand.
Once the two parts are assembled together the height and orientation of the retractable spring clamp is set by operating and locating the adjustable height standoff as follows:
The Height adjustor body comprises of two components; the ‘body’ and the ‘nut’ the main bodies Male thread is screwed into the mating components female thread. The height setting is determined by the depth at which the Male thread is screwed into the mating part. The nut is then used to lock the body in position by tightening it up against the mating component.
The Spring clamp is operated by pulling back the thumb nut to allow space for the work piece to be positioned as required, the thumb nut should be slowly released which in turn will tension the spring clamp against the work piece, clamping it in position.
In order to fully appreciate the way in which this component is used we recommend that you view the ‘typical applications page’ in the product catalogue, manual or on our website at http://www.leecosfixture.com
For general cleaning, a mild soap and water solution can be used applied with a cloth or sponge. For removal of grease or oily deposits methylated spirits can be applied with a cloth or sponge. In both cases the part should be finally rinsed in cold water and thoroughly dried.
