The Jack Lateral standoff is used to apply a lateral pressure in order to position, clamp, hold or locate the work piece. The lateral pin design allows for quick repeatable work piece location and is ideal for locating lighter parts.
The Lateral standoff can be screwed into the base plate, and even the height of the jack can be increased and locked using a nut to a certain extent. 1off LEE-09 jack lateral standoff is commonly used with 2off LEE-08 jack pin standoff to provide a quick change three-point location system (the typical application photo shows this configuration). The lateral standoff applies a lateral clamping force of 19.6N when in tension against the work piece.
The Jack lateral standoff is designed with an adjusting length where length can be varied depending upon the workpiece. The Jack lateral standoff has a male thread which is screwed directly into any of the female threads in the baseplate, adjustable or locating components. The Jack Lateral Standoff should be screwed into the female thread and tightened by hand.
The Jack magnet Standoff comprises of two components; the ‘body’ and the ‘nut’ the main bodies Male thread is screwed into the baseplate female thread. The height setting is determined by the workpiece at which the Male thread is screwed into the mating part. The nut is then used to lock the body in position by tightening it up against the mating component. Only Minimal force is needed when tightening, over tightening can damage the thread.
In order to fully appreciate the way in which this component is used we recommend that you view the ‘typical applications page’ in the product catalogue, manual or on our website at http://www.leecosfixture.com.
For general cleaning, a mild soap and water solution can be used applied with a cloth or sponge. For removal of grease or oily deposits methylated spirits can be applied with a cloth or sponge. In both cases the part should be finally rinsed in cold water and thoroughly dried.
